The 12th year of this popular event was staged at Bridge Park Bowling Club on Sunday 30th May, 2021. The weather held off just long enough for the 32 teams to complete their bowls, while the raffles and bar did a brisk trade.
The day, in memory of All Black Pat Walsh, raised over $3,000 in aid of Maori Youth Sports Scholarships. Former AB's present included Sir Brian Williams, Keith Nelson and Bernie Allen.
Other VIP's participating included Auckland Bowls President Greame Scott and Bowls New Zealand CEO Mark Cameron.
Winners of the Pat Walsh Memorial Trophy were Mae Taurua(s), Liam Hill and Janine Young.
Scholarships were awarded to up and coming sports stars Jamal Todd, Richlyn Tuhoro, Eileen-Mary Cassidy and Tama Anderson. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the tournament a great success, particularly the Walsh family for their generous sponsorship.
