Kiwi ITO’s to take flight for World Cup of Bowls

Steve Sargent, Pauline Seaton and Wendy Suttie have been selected by World Bowls to act as International Technical Officials at the upcoming World Cup to be held in Malaysia from the 4-9th November.

New Zealand has a proud history of officiating at the highest level, and to have three Kiwis present at the upcoming World Cup is something to be proud of.

We are fortunate to have 16 people who hold the ITO qualification in New Zealand, and it represents a group of Umpires who're at the absolute top of their game.

ITO's must have a proven track record at domestic events and go through a thorough accreditation process on their journey to attaining ITO status.

The head of the New Zealand Umpires Committee, Michael Johnson said ''I'm always very proud to see NZ ITOs officiating on the World stage, be that at home for an international event in NZ or an overseas event. We have a dedicated and passionate group of umpires so its very pleasing when there are opportunities to be involved in events at the highest level."

New Zealand is also sending a team of athletes to compete in the World Cup and will be providing a live broadcast of the event so there will be a distinctly Kiwi flavour to proceedings in Malaysia.

Results and broadcast links will be available on the World Bowls website and social media travels.

Fly safe, Kiwis!
