The Royal Oak Bowls $12,000 Easter Fours Tournament, one of the Bowls New Zealand Summer of Bowls events, returned to Royal Oak after a three-year hiatus due to Covid and the installation of our new artificial surface on A Green and the construction of the cover over it.

The new Fours format attracted 32 high-class teams filling both A and B Greens and keeping the hard-working kitchen and bar staff very busy.

The competition was won by the composite team pictured above, with runners-up David Akaruru, Thomas Teinaki, Fraema Akaruru and Philly Akaruru. In third place was Billy Fulton, Liam Hill, Sean Hird and Neville Hill. The prize pool went deep - in total eight placegetters were paid out plus the best card from Day 1 and Day 2 that were not in the top eight.
