Tuesday Night

Bouncing back from two straight losses in week three, Blackjack Gary Lawson’s Elmwood Park Saints, this time lining up with Jan Shirley and Nathan Glasson, got back on the board with a straight sets win opposite the Parajacks, 4-3, 8-5.

The second game of the evening saw the Auckland derby play out between the reigning champion Pt Chevalier Pirates and the Royal Oak Rockets, with a tie-break win going the way of the Rockets after a sensational final bowl from skip John Carruthers.

Wednesday Night

Another consecutive win for the Royal Oak Rockets opened the action on night two, with the Rockets taking out a tie-break win opposite the Parajacks, 3-5, 6-2, 1-0.

Seeking a much needed win, the Parajacks bounced back in fine style in their double-header, dispatching the Hinuera Heat, this time with the tie-break win going their way, 4-3, 2-4, 4-0.

Ending the night’s action, the Elmwood Park Saints propelled themselves back to the top of the Bowls3Five table, taking a straight sets win over the Pt Chevalier Pirates, 8-1, 3-3 – by contrast, the Pirates now anchoring the foot of the table.

Thursday Night

The Hinuera Heat got proceedings underway with a win opposite the Stokes Valley Vipers on the final night of week four, with Kevin Smith, Debbie White and Paul Casey Jr creeping over the line with a tie-break win, 6-5, 3-6, 2-0.

Back on the rink for their double header, the Vipers found themselves in a similar position opposite the Royal Oak Rockets, this time swinging the tie-break win in their favour to take out the three points, 10-0, 1-7, 2-0.

Ending the action, the reigning champion Pt Chevalier Pirates trio of Aiden Takarua, Alex Reed and Jenny Stockford held strong to lift themselves off the bottom of the ladder, taking a straight sets win against the Hinuera Heat, 6-1, 4-4.
