This week, Bowls New Zealand Chief Executive Mark Cameron announced a new commercial partnership with sports apparel supplier BLK.
“We’re delighted to have BLK on board, not only as the official apparel supplier for the Blackjacks, but as the naming rights sponsor for this year’s Nationals in Dunedin.”
Bowls will be in good sports company with BLK. “BLK also partners the Silver Ferns here in New Zealand,” says Cameron. “As well as other national teams around the world like England Rugby League and Touch Football Australia. BLK is also the apparel of choice for many Super Rugby and Heineken Cup teams.”
BLK New Zealand Founding Director Tyler Rakich is equally effusive about the partnership. “BLK is driven by a desire to innovate and create the very best in sportswear design … to help create a new ceiling of excellence for the athletes we dress. We see bowls like this. Where those putting on a BLK Blackjacks uniform not only strive to be the best in New Zealand, but the best in the world.”
“And BLK sees the National Bowls Tournament in Dunedin as the genesis of excellence in the sport. Where casual weekend bowlers have the opportunity to pit themselves against the very best in the sport.”
While the partnership with BLK is with the Blackjacks and Bowls New Zealand, BLK is more than happy to supply apparel needs at both centre and club level. “We’re in the business of selling sports apparel to the general public, as well as elite teams,” explains Rakich. “And we would love to see BLK taken up by the 500 bowling clubs throughout New Zealand.”
