Bruce Wakefield competes in the B6/7/8 Para Triples Team alongside Barry Wynks and Mark Noble.
In 2016 he won the New Zealand Disabled Championship Singles Title and in 2017 he claimed the New Zealand Open Triples & Pairs titles. In 2017 Bruce represented New Zealand in the Trans Tasman series in November.
Bruce’s hometown is Timaru but he’s currently living in Christchurch where he’s coached by Graeme Rees.

Why did you take an interest in Bowls? My friends played bowls so I joined in.
Most memorable match? Against 2008 Mens Blackjack 4`s team at the Nationals

Toughest opponent? My Brother, Grant Wakefield
Aspiration in Bowls? To enjoy playing for as long as I can at any level.
Advice for new players? Concentrate on drawing first, then try more shots. Never be afraid to ask for help or coaching tips.
